The rainy day. Day six

We started the day by waking up early, packing the van and getting ready to head of to Peak Hill where we were going to eat breakfast. We had a good trip down the road from Tomingley which is where we'd stayed that night. We arrived at the open cut gold mine and had breakfast cereal at a picnic table. We then went bushwalking around the outside of the mine. We were going to find an earth cache in which we had to answer questions about the mine and how it was built. While we were looking at the mine there were these little annoying insects called Mosquitos eating us! We had to run back down the hill otherwise we would have been carried away by them.

After the open cut gold mine we headed off to the Parkes Radio Telescope know as The Dish. We arrived at the huge dish which is even bigger then the one at Narrabri. It was massive! So at the The Dish we had a look at the displays that were laid out. We then got a collective spoon for me and a sticker and a keyring. We also had lunch there which included amazing beef red wine pie and a caramel iced galaxy (a drink). I also got dad to by mum a birthday present.

We then headed to the car and decided to see how far we could reach in one stretch and found out a place called Narranderra and set up the caravan in the rain. We then had dinner which was spaghetti. After a divine dinner we set up the beds and went to bed. Hope we don't get bogged! ðŸ˜‰
