Day nine

We woke and were very excited because it was the day we were going into the caves. We had brekky and got dressed and put our shoes on and headed off to the Wet Cave in which we were taking a self-guided tour. It was really fun down the cave, they had little signs that we could read information off. We saw why it had gotten its name of the Wet Cave, in little spots it had puddles of water. After the Wet Cave we head off to the Wanambi Fossil Centre where we had a look at the way they think it look like in the days of the megafauna. The megafauna were moving and it was a little freaky. We then headed off in the car to the Victorian Fossil Cave where we were having a guided tour. We headed down in to the cave where we had a look at stalactites and stalagmites and how they are formed we also had a look at some fossils that had been found down in the cave. We had a look at how the creatures had fallen down the hole and had ether gotten eaten or had crawled away and died. We then headed out of the cave and headed off back to the campsite for lunch, chicken sandwiches.

After lunch at about 2:00pm we headed off to the visitor's centre where we had to meet up for our next activity. We meet up with Yaz, our Adventure Caving guide. She took us to a shed where we got into overalls, put knee pads on and got a helmet with a torch. We then head off to the Wet Cave, we were going into another cave called Stick-Tomato Cave. We had some practice crawling around in the cave ground. We then did three challenges which were: The eye of the needle, The key hole and the slot. We also did little activities. It was really fun down in the cave. After the cave we went back into the information centre where we got a participation certificate, we also got to into the Wanambi Fossil Centre and then headed back home. We had dinner and went to bed.
